A. Everyone has a different tolerance to pain. The first treatment is more uncomfortable and local anesthetic creams (Emla) on the skin 1.5 hours before treatment can help

Cynosure Laser can treat skins that are dark olive, brown and black using the Nd Yag 1064.  This Laser wavelength will protect the skin and target the hair effectively. The Clinic prefers not to treat light skins that are tanned.  Please don’t do any artificial tanning before any laser treatment

Almost the entire body except around the eyes. This includes removing hair in all those difficult, hard to reach places, e.g. between buttocks. This helps with daily hygiene of the genital area by the reduction of hair. Reduces the incidence of ingrown hairs causing boils, cysts, abscesses etc. We can treat this area because the laser hand piece does not touch the skin.

People whose hair is absolutely gray or very fair in colour, however we have had some success, it is better to come and do a test patch. Other people who are not candidates for the sessions are people who are newly pregnant, epileptic or on chemotherapy. People that are on medication for acne, however if you have been off the medication for 6 months, come in for a test patch and discuss your options. We can give you some other techniques that could help you minimise the appearance of hair until you can safely have a laser hair removal treatment.

Shaving is a must. We are targeting the hair under the skin and the surface hair gets in the way and causes burning hair. Yes, you can shave in between treatments or use depilatory cream. Shaving will not increase the production of hair.

The area to be treated must be shaved the night before the treatment. This will be discussed in your complimentary consultation. Once you start laser hair removal only shave in between treatments, no waxing or threading.
